New police structure put off to Sept 7

The Police Commission has resolved to postpone the enforcement of the royal decree on the new structure of the Royal Thai Police Office from Aug 16 to Sept 7, police spokesman Pol Gen Wacharapol Prasarnratchakij said on Thursday.

Pol Gen Wacharpol, a deputy national police chief, said the delay was necessitated by the many requests for exemption from some new criteria and qualifications set for the posts of deputy commander.
